The book was interesting. There were multiple scenes that were quite different from the movie. Several story lines varied as well.

For instance, the book added a Mason twist to the interest in the treasure. Also, Wilkinson was purely evil which made a lot more sense (If all he wanted was to get Ben interested in the treasure, all he had to do was show him the clues, right?).
On the other hand, there were scenes where Riley spoke up in support of Ben/Abigail and/or Ben COMPLETELY ignored Riley for Abigail.
As annoying as that flaw is, the book does supply several alternate scenes/ideas that would make for interesting fanfiction.
Including Riley hanging off a cliff…
OH! And a gun to his head at one point.
Fanfiction fodder indeed.

I'm not so sure. Wilkinson had a reputation for being a black market dealer in antiquities. I wonder if Ben or Patrick would have readily done business with him - especially after their experiences with Ian Howe.
